World Lemur Day 2026
On Friday, October 30th, Wildlife Madagascar celebrated World Lemur Day alongside the students, families, and community members of Mangarivotra, near our La Mananara field site!

Local communities are at the heart of long-term conservation, and the day was an opportunity to bring people together to celebrate Madagascar’s extraordinary lemurs while highlighting the important role residents play in protecting the forests and wildlife they share. Through engaging activities and discussions about the lemurs of the nearby Anjozorobe-Angavo Protected Area, we encouraged the next generation to take pride in their natural heritage and become active participants in its conservation.
We are grateful to the Mangarivotra community for joining us in celebrating these remarkable animals, and look forward to marking World Lemur Day with our other field-site communities later this month!
